91ÊÓÆµÍø's Nursing Program
A career in nursing offers challenges, self-satisfaction and the opportunity to be a member of the interdisciplinary team providing care in various health care settings.
The Nursing Program at 91ÊÓÆµÍø was established in 1981 and has focused on preparing individuals to become caring, safe, entry-level nurses for more than 40 years. Western's nursing program is offered at three campus sites: Altus, Lawton, and Elk City. There is also an online track for qualified LPNs.ÌýÌýWestern's ADN program has several program tracks. There are face-to-face classes for both general and advanced standing entry students and online classes with a face-to-face clinical component for advanced standing students.ÌýÌýStudents in the face-to-face tracks are able to take daytime classes at all three campuses.

Nursing Application Process
The nursing application is available online and is open every year in January for applicants wanting to begin in the following fall.Ìý

Students must have a cumulative GPA of 2.25 out of a possibleÌý

Request to take the pre-nursing exam, which covers math, reading, anatomy, physiology, biology, and vocabulary.Ìý Students must have a math score ofÌý >74 and a reading score ofÌý >82 on the admission exam.*

Fill out an online nursing application.Ìý Application will require, 2 personal references, admission essay, transcipts (HS, College, and LPN), LPN verification (if applicable), pre-nursing exam scores application fee.*

Applicants will be ranked based on cumulatice college GPA completion of general education/technical support courses, grades within the courses, and pre-nursing examination scores.Ìý
